The response team are the main force of the Metropolitan Police Department, they are usually the first responders on scene who gather initial information and communicate to the specialised divisions if backup is needed. The response team should keep control of scenes and maintain professionalism to the public.
Roads and Transport policing command
The RTPC is responsible for patrolling the streets to ensure the safety of all road users. In addition to their general road policing duties, they assist with various operations aimed at improving road safety and are also at the forefront in tackling vehicle crime and the criminal use of the roads network. RPU officers are responsible for pursuing and keeping clear communication to other divisions to arrest criminals.
The MO19 division are the specialist armed team of the Metropolitan Police Department, they deal with hostage situations and firearm situations. The MO19 division are a highly trained firearms unit that de-escalate intense situations.
The NPAS division provides the MPS with air support. NPAS have many duties including gathering intel, finding suspects in the air and taking communications in pursuits.
The College of Policing division is responsible for all general trainings within the metropolitan police service, their main duty is to interview, train and examine the forces new recruits (police community support officers). The College of Policing are also there to ensure all officers have been provided with high quality training to ensure the MPS have the up most professionalism. Higher ranking examiners will also conduct firearms training to the necessary officers.
